OIL PAINTINGS

My newest painting, a small oil started onsite in September and finished in my studio. I loved the textures and colours of stonework and plants which inspired the thicker application of paint and markmaking. It was a beautiful autumnal morning.

A pleinair painting of a Dorset valley which needed to be revisited. The valley was waiting peacefully for those final touches of gold paint which brought it alive.

Very relaxing to stroll along the Esplanade and fabulous beach at Ryde IOW. Ideal to be able to paint this view from the shade of trees in Appley park on a hot summer’s day. Oil on board 30×20 cm.

A breezy August day, painting at Brading Roman Villa IOW. A challenging composition which initiated adventures into mark making and pattern. Oil on board 10”x8”.

The lake at Harvey Brown’ s farmshop. Isle of Wight, such a beautiful place to sit and paint. with a cafe nearby. Good memories

A group of Pine trees against the light, always appealing – even more so when above a richly textured sandy bank. Oil on board 35 x 45cm
GOUACHE PAINTINGS with beeswax finish

One of my favourites, so I am delighted that it is now being enjoyed by its new owners

Gouache on board, my memory of a view in north Dorset with beautiful colours. I cannot bear to part with this one yet ! NFS
ACRYLIC PAINTINGS

Large, acrylic painting developed from my sketch on a walk across fields, looking towards the high cliffs of the Dorset coast. An exciting composition. Looks great in its new home.

One of those paintings that just worked ! Finding a way to emphasise the way late sunlight caught the rich autumn colours of the copse was thrilling.
